This notice covers wildleadership.co. It says what the site collects, why, who else sees it, and how to make me delete it.

Who holds your data

Wild Leadership Ltd is the data controller.

There is no team. Anything you send arrives with me, Magnus Wood.

Tracking and cookies

This site does not track you. There is no Google Analytics here, no Meta pixel, no advertising network, no session recording, and nothing that follows you to another website. That is why there is no cookie banner. A visitor who reads this site and leaves has no cookies set by it at all.

I do keep a simple count of traffic, using Independent Analytics. It runs on my own server rather than someone else’s, sets no cookies, and records only the page viewed, the site or search that sent you, your rough country, and whether you were on a phone or a computer. It does not build a profile, and it does not identify you.

The daily email

If you sign up for The Hundred Wild Words, I hold your email address, and your first name if you give it. It is stored by Kit, which sends the emails on my behalf. Kit records whether an email was opened and whether a link was clicked.

You get one short piece most weekdays. Nothing else. I do not sell, rent, share or trade the list, and nobody else mails it.

Lawful basis: your consent.

Retention: until you unsubscribe, plus a record of the unsubscribe itself so you are not added again by accident. Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. It works immediately.

The Recognition

The Recognition is seven questions about what your leadership team tolerates. The form is built and hosted by Tally.

Read this part properly, because it is the one that matters.

Your answers come to me and I read every one. I reply personally, usually within the week. Depending on what you write, your answers may describe your employer, your colleagues or your own conduct at work. Nobody else sees them. They are not published, quoted, summarised in my writing, shown in talks, or used as examples with clients. If I ever wanted to refer to something you wrote, I would ask you first, and you would be free to say no.

You do not need to give your real name or your company’s name. The assessment works without either.

Lawful basis: your consent when you submit, and my legitimate interest in replying to you.

Retention: twelve months from the date you submit, then deleted from Tally and from my email. Ask me sooner and I will delete it sooner, without asking why.

The Domestication Index

The Index is an anonymous survey about what UK workers see in the people who manage them. It does not ask for your name, your employer or your email as part of the survey itself, and I have no way of identifying who submitted what.

Individual responses are never published. Only aggregate figures are: the index value, the number of responses, and the percentage agreeing with each of the four statements.

If you choose to leave an email address at the end to hear what the Index finds, that address is held separately from the responses and is not linked back to your answers.

Lawful basis: your consent.

Retention: anonymous responses are kept for as long as the Index runs, because the aggregate depends on them. Emails until you ask me to remove yours.

Who else your data touches

These are the only companies that process anything from this site on my behalf:

  • Kit (United States) — the daily email list
  • Tally (Belgium) — The Recognition and The Domestication Index
  • Google (United States) — the published spreadsheet holding the Index aggregate figures. No analytics, no advertising.
  • Automattic (United States) — Jetpack, which protects the site against malicious logins, and Akismet, which filters spam
  • Substack (United States) — the Seasonal Book, if you subscribe to it
  • GreenGeeks — hosting

Where these are outside the UK, the transfer relies on the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or an adequacy decision.

I do not sell data. I do not share it for anyone else’s marketing. The only circumstance in which I would hand anything over is if the law required it.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask me to:

  • tell you what I hold about you
  • give you a copy
  • correct anything wrong
  • delete it
  • stop using it, or restrict how I use it
  • withdraw a consent you gave earlier

Email magnus@wildleadership.co and say what you want. There is no form. I will do it within a month, usually the same week, and I will not ask you to justify it.

If you think I have handled your data badly, tell me first and I will try to fix it. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113. You do not need my permission to do that.

Children

This site is for working adults. I do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 18.

Changes

If this notice changes in a way that affects you, I will update the date at the top and, where the change is significant, say so in the daily email.
